These terms apply to your use of berneru.org, the website of Berner University. By using the site you agree to them. If you do not agree, please leave the site.

What the site is

Berner University is an educational conference held at the Bernese Mountain Dog Club of America National Specialty. This website publishes conference schedules, class descriptions, faculty biographies, photographs, links, and Health Information Cards. Pages from past years are an archive. Dates, fees, hotels, and schedules on those pages describe that year. They are not an offer for a future event unless the current year's page says so.

Not veterinary advice

Nothing on this site is veterinary medical advice, a diagnosis, or a treatment plan for a particular dog. Health cards and class notes are general education. Decisions about a dog's health belong with a licensed veterinarian who has examined that dog. Read the disclaimer.

Registration and fees

When a conference is open, registration instructions and fees are printed on that year's page. This website does not take payment. Follow the registration path named on the current page. A fee announced for an earlier year does not apply to a later year.

Intellectual property

Schedules, class descriptions, health cards, photographs, and other materials on this site belong to their authors and to Berner University. You may read them, print a copy for your own use, and share a link to a page. You may not copy the materials onto another site, sell them, or present them as your own work without permission from the organizers. Faculty names and biographies may be quoted only with the page they came from.

Acceptable use

Do not attempt to break, scrape in a way that overloads, or misrepresent this site. Do not send the organizers unlawful, abusive, or misleading messages. Do not use the site to advertise dogs for sale or to collect addresses from other visitors.

Other websites

Links, including links to the BMDCA and to faculty resources, leave this site. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of those sites.

Advertising

The site may show third-party advertisements, including ads served by Google. Advertisers are responsible for their ads. A link from an ad is not an endorsement by Berner University. Advertising cookies are described in the privacy policy.

Disclaimer of warranties

The site and its archive are provided as-is. We work to keep pages accurate, and older pages can still contain outdated dates, broken links, or superseded health notes. We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any class, hotel, or registration link is still open.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Berner University and the people who prepare its materials are not liable for any loss or injury that results from using the site, relying on a health card, attending or missing a class, or following an external link. If you need advice about a dog, ask a veterinarian.
